Scent
The nose is the most direct path to our memory. A mere whiff of a once
familiar scent can instantly transport us back to an exact moment or
experience we had otherwise forgotten. The subconscious processing of
scent should not be underestimated. The scent of another person may
predispose us to befriend or distrust them, depending upon past
experience with similar scents. This is the most animalistic and basic
of our senses, and most of us have lost touch with it.
